SWINDON TOWN: Barnet match is off
12:48pm Friday 10th February 2012
SWINDON Town's League Two fixture at Barnet tomorrow has been called off following a pitch inspection at Underhill this morning.
Temperatures in the area are currently at zero degrees, with forecasts predicting they will drop as low as minus six later today.
The covers were on overnight at Underhill but when they were removed this morning the pitch was frozen and the decision was made to postpone the fixture.
“It is a shame because at this moment we have high confidence and we would have played against a side we have beaten already this season," said Town boss Paolo Di Canio.
“They probably would have had some players out as well but if we cannot play then we cannot change this.
“I will take the positives from this situation and we will prepare properly for Tuesday, which is a big, big match for us.”
Meanwhile, Swindon's League Two home fixture against Burton Albion has been rearranged for Tuesday, February 28. Kick off at 7.45pm.
