1:00pm Wednesday 22nd February 2012
The 30th Corsham St George’s Day 10k race is taking place at 11am on Sunday, April 22.
The run will start at Corsham Town Football Club, in Lacock Road, and the route will take runners around the town then finish at the club.
Cash prizes will be given to the two fastest men and women, while trophies will also be presented to the top three competitors in all categories.
Every participant will receive a goody bag.
The run, organised by the Rotary Club of Corsham and Corsham Running Club, is raising money for the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund, Young Carers in Wiltshire and other local charities.
A raffle is also planned to help raise money with a week’s holiday in Tenerife including £250 towards the cost of air fare as first prize.
The run’s theme is St George’s Day and anyone who considers themselves to be a fun runner is encouraged to dress accordingly.
There will also be a 2k fun run taking place in the grounds of Corsham Court at 9.45am, and a selection of refreshments will be served throughout the day.
Entry numbers are limited to 1,000 people with the cost in advance being £10 for affiliated members or £12 for non-members. On the day affilliated members’ entry costs £11 and £13 for non-members.
