Bradford woman leads Palestine trip
9:00pm Friday 27th January 2012
A Bradford on Avon woman is travelling to Palestine to plant olive trees next Thursday.
Judith Hammond, will travel with a party of five as part of an olive planting programme organised by the Olive Tree Campaign.
During the trip the group will help plant 200 trees, some of which were sponsored by people in Wiltshire.
Mrs Hammond, 68, said: “I’m looking forward to going back over and this time there is a new element as I’ll be taking people with me. We are all so pleased to be doing something worthwhile.”
The programme will see volunteers from all over the world showing support to farmers in Palestine.
During the visit Mrs Hammond and her group will visit urban and rural locations within the West Bank to learn about Palestinian daily life.
For more details or to sponsor a tree, call Mrs Hammond on 01225 868195.
